Do you know where the term "Elisen gingerbread" comes from?
Around the year 1720, the daughter of a Nuremberg Lebküchner fell very seriously ill. The father created a pastry with the highest quality ingredients without flour and for a certain time his daughter got it to eat.
She fully recovered. The daughter´s name was Elisabeth and so the "Elisen" gingerbread was born.
